James H. Long Railroad Park & Museum
With railroad history and artifacts dating back to 1886, the Railroad Museum is fascinating for visitors of all ages. The Museum’s white gazebo on Main Street is instantly recognizable by our Giant Gingerbread Man at the same address. C’mon in and bring your camera. Free!
World’s Largest Gingerbread Man
In 2006 to celebrate the Christmas Festival of Lights, the residents of Smithville baked a 20 foot tall gingerbread man. We ate the cookie, but kept the mold and made Smitty. Now Smitty, the gingerbread man, is a permanent monument on Main Street. Come see us!

The city’s finest outdoor recreational spot borders the Colorado River. The park has a walking trail, fishing pier, barbecue pits and picnic tables near the river, plus a dance floor at Chuckwagon Square and disc golf!
